A lack of adequate stretching is the missing link for many exercisers and fitness enthusiasts.  A systematic series of controlled stretches while muscles are still warm can greatly relieve post exercise soreness.  Proper stretching can help one to maintain their active range of motion which in turn facilitates daily movements and can help avoid injuries caused by overly tight muscles and joints.
